How to enter

How to enter the National Cupcake Championships:

1. The competition is open to professional registered bakers engaged in the commercial sale of bakery products to the public or bakers employed by such a business, Size of business is no barrier to entry. Amateur or home bakers are not eligible for entry.

2. Each part of the application form including contact details, must be completed in full. Entrants will initially be judged on the strength of their written application and images, so take care over photography and filling in all fields.

3. Recipes submitted for the competition must be for 10 cupcakes and should include a full step-by-step method and ingredients/quantities list.

4. The cake must be commercially viable - that is, you could reasonably expect to sell it at a profit in a shop, through catering or via internet delivery.

5. All entrants MUST be available to attend the National Cupcake Championships final on 2 July at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London. Bakers who are unable to attend the event and awards presentation will not be considered by the judges and will be disqualified. Please check your calendar for availability from 9am-2pm, prior to entering.

6. Finalists will be required to bring 10 identical cupcakes to the final for judging and photography purposes. Facilities will be made available from 08.45am at the venue to top and decorate your cupcakes, should you wish to do so on site prior to passing them across to be judged at 10am.

7. The winners will be announced at the event on 2 July 2012
