Here at NCW we know that there are some great cupcakes made by individual registered businesses out there.
But we also know that the big guys do a good job too with their cupcake creations. You only have to go a supermarket, cafe or a chain craft bakery to see the invention and style on show.
So, for that reason, we have the category: Best Cupcake Crafted for Multiple Outlets. If you run more than five outlets here is your chance to show the expertise that goes into making cupcakes at a sizeable volume, whilst staying true to demands for a great-tasting, great-looking, value offering.
Or, if you manufacture the cupcake on behalf of a company that has multiple units, then this is the one to enter.
The previous winner of the category was the third-generation family bakery Coughlans, which was established in 1937. It wowed the judges in 2011 with a Strawberry Tuxedo cupcake. The sponge of the cake was injected with a homemade strawberry coulis, with some of the coulis blended into the frosting.
Georgi Gyton, NCW Championship organiser, said: "You only have to walk down the bakery aisle of your local supermarket to recognise the impact of the cupcake phenomenon. And we want to recognise the different skill set that is needed to create tasty cupcakes in high volumes. So, don't delay and enter today."
